Always seems to be a thing when I add something worthy to the setup/chain that the cat gets involved…
Now I want to be clear;
two things make the cat meow to comminicate with us humans;
a)wanting to go outside
b)if I am late to serve food
When recording this video, an hour or so after her breakfast time, there is no reason for the mews.
The front door is open..
All food bowls are good and serviced an hour (or so) prior.
Cat comes up and gets in the stereo sweet spot.
even going so far as to do her version of a growl to indicate ‘annoyance’, when the start of a Pet Shop Boys tracks didn’t quite ‘angelically harmonic’ a male vocal at the start.
My fault; I had removed a Nordost cable (the one that made some vocals ‘heavenly’) and the cat could tell.
That being said, the cat did, rightly so, realise that the Dunu Concept R that was breaking in was in fact very worthy of being focused on.
for the record the cat likes songs that lean on lots of wide imaging and panning, and ‘nature sounds’ always net her attention at that primal level too.
For any who care about the actual sound from a Concept R; later in the day I rewired it using the aforementioned Nordost cable direct into the AV Bypass of the Nait XS3.
This allows using the lovely volume slider on the Dunu CD player as a system wide volume slider. (we play CDs on the Dunu and stream digital into it via a digital audio player).
These videos are recorded at a louder room volume, and have moved away from the sibilant ‘generic’ cable I had been using in the ‘cat video’ above.
