Are there any CDs which in themselves could be seen as a physical work of art?
Free
A friend of mine has also got Kossoff looking out of the CD cabinet. I saw it for the first time only a few weeks ago. It’s rather good.
You’re not my friend are you??
Well I could be related. A couple of years ago I sold my 10,000 CD collection and maybe your friend bought the CDs.
I also had the Todd Rundgren CDs that had Todd’s face on the spine but I didn’t have the whole set and Todd looked a bit strange well stranger than normal.
The packaging for Very (1993) by the Pet Shop Boys was different and innovative enough to now be included in museums:
Excellent!
I probably have that. I can recall disliking their silly helmets and outfits at the time.

I would think the CD Compilation 20 to 2000 by Raster Noton could qualify as a piece of art.
Picture curtesy of disquiet.
Other Raster Noton releases probably as well.
Oh and the Merzbow Car which sadly seems to have been dismantled.
Layla - Compliments of Marantz probably from mid 1990s.
Two tracks Layla (Blues version) and Layla (Orchestral version)
Forgot to add this is the CD photographed on a black mat the case is just a normal type and nothing special.
