CD player in 2021

Operas are generally split up into acts. Thus enabling the audience in the opera house to nip out and have a fag and a cup of tea… :grinning:

The ending of acts often coincide with the end of a CD - I don’t know of any act over 74 minutes long ! ( though I’m sure someone may put me in my place ! ). Perfect for putting the kettle on and feeding the dog. :grinning:

As Luciano would say, non c’è problema !

I’ve tried various cd-transport into a DAC.
By far preferred a dedicated cd-player such as CDS (any of them)
Apart from 555 I have owned them all.
The CDS range were superb but I need trust in support so changed.

I’d never rip or stream so basically happy with my current Rega cd-players, all of which are fully supported with spares available.

Would like to hear the new Roksan Blak though.

Indeed, or 3 acts on 3 CDs, though there are acts longer than74 minutes (famously Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg is 4.5 hours long, in 3 Acts…

Then there is music like the Who’s Tommy (~76 minutes) and Quadraphenia (~82 minutes) which are infinitely better played seamlessly without a break.
