CD5 si drawer loading noisy

Anyone experience noise when closing the drawer on the CD5si. Not cable rubbing just the motor noise as the laser positions ready to play. My CDX is very quiet in comparison.

I have this issue on a CD5 XS. I started a thread a few months back.

The conclusion is a broken or misaligned leaf spring switch.

Neil from Naim reckoned that it’s not a biggie so I’ve decided to live with it.

I wish I could hear some noise as the laser positions :slight_smile: My CD5si is dead silent when inserting a CD and displays ‘Err’.

Yeah, I am considering that. To be honest, I completely switched to streaming. Also ripped all my CD’s and put them on a NAS.

I will at least contact the Dutch distributor to see if they can fix it locally or if it would have to be sent to the UK. That’s a bit of a nuisance.

I would like to sell it, but than it must be repaired first. Does n’t sound too economical :slight_smile:
