I put the device on soak test and went out fir a couple of hours. When I left it was playing and displaying 0000. When I returned it had stopped and showed 0578. Does anyone know the meaning of such a code?

Good idea but unfortunately the code is unknown but they are going to dig around and see what they can find….

Best just to unplug then plug in again.
I know some CDP don’t like a disc being left in them when on and off etc.
Reboot and cross you fingers.
The first digit relates to TOC fails
The second - radial errors
The third - focus errors
The fourth - start errors
Anything other than four zeros is a fail.
