I am in a quandary about CD players and transports. I recently sold my CDS2 after having 2 of them and a CDS3. Naim don’t support them any longer. Have been thinking about a CD Transport. Was looking at 80s and 90s Sony CD Transports today. Don’t know that I need one at all.
The Audiolabs looks don’t appeal. Thinking maybe Cyrus CDT. Just don’t really like how any of them look.
A CDX2.2 would fit the bill used as transport only. But they are no longer supported.
Will leave the itch alone and focus on other matters!
@Dan_M when I thought my CDS2 was on the bink and on the way out Darran Class A recommended this as a suitable replacement.

Hi.
RAD 2 is the way to get the most from the vinyl source.
Renember Rad 1 might be a bargain buy no longer supported but the 2 has super motor mounting upgrade to say the very least.
Getting rid of the old AC system was a game changer for reliability and minimal servicing too.
The biggest sound wise instant impact was old sub to Kore and lingo 1 to Radikal 1 but having said that the Radikal to level 2 was just as good.
I’ve no plans to change out my original 1987 plinth and my top plate is original non stud version.
I’m not sure about other Top plates I know they do something but I love the signature of the old tensioned steel.
On the outside all of mine is 1987.
The Keel and even the SE/1 brought remarkable detail and an improved presence but really more subtle than in your face.
I’d say the Kore brings about 65% of the Keel but was huge compare to my old Cirkus chassis.
I can honestly say that Radikal 2 and Karousel and Krystal to Kandid were the big hits.
Krystal is another story.
I could live with many combinations if I had that foundation.
Apologies too for going off topic but enthusiasm is infectious and I do love my CD5SI CDP and the simplicity of only one remote.
I have the cd5si connected to 272/xpsdr and ATC 40A, it is less detailed and precise than the streamer of 272 but I sometimes find it more musical, on some CDs I take more pleasure to listen to music… For me he is a very good reader!
