CD5XS hub was pulling off, now fixed and sounding better than ever

…Well now, just before Christmas it started happening again.

Following a short email discussion with my local Audio-T, I dropped into the shop this afternoon. A spare ‘hub’ was quickly fitted which we noticed had a slightly narrower hole in it for the spindle. It’s a push fit, no glue.

Now working magnificently and it really does sound like a new player. Fingers crossed. And thanks to all at Audio-t in Soton on this one.

Amazing to me the difference the a piece of stamped metal that probably costs a few pennies can make. Then again what could be more important than keeping the CD in the right place relative to the laser. The mechanism is now the quietest it has ever been in my ownership. No more wheezy CD start ups.
