The 72/180 is playing like a charm. Im actually more satisifed now than with the 252/300
Anyways, Im using the Marantz CD6007 - and its ok. Its nice. But I miss the “Naimness”
Any sugestions for the “right” cdplayer in this system?
(the analog section is taken care of by the Rega P6- used to have the LP12)

CD5SI still just available and get a warranty too while stocks last.

It was a Naim, but you already know the issues, no need to repeat risk of becoming doorstop.

I went to Rega, others go Marantz, Hegel, Roksan, other a Chinese CD transport into a good dac.

I had the CDX2 with my 282/250 and 252/300, and I belive it was the «right» cdp for both this systems.

Ive got the CD5SI
Is it better than the Marantz? I thought the CD5XS was much better than the 5Si. Separately I thought the CD6006 was impressive, though I never compared it side by side with the Naims.
Just curious. No harm either way. I did not think the 5Si was bad at all.
Naim CD players use the same remote as your 252, which may be irrelevant in your case. I like synergies like that. Nobody asked me, I know.

Better than Marantz - I dont know yet, its still in shipping.
I have had the CDX2, and compared it to the CD5X with FlatCap.
The CDX2 was better, but I liked the CD5X more.
Kept the CDX5 cause ut was «better»
Nowadays Im not so ocopied of the «betterness»
The important is - does it play music.
The Marantz is OK. It plays fine. Its boring. No soul. Do not make me want to play another CD.
