The damping mechanism on the Perspex lid of my CDS2 has been broken for quite a long time.
It still operates the switch but is somewhat clunky.
I’m guessing that the same mechanism was used on a number of different Naim CD players.
I would imagine that this was a common problem. Is there a possible/ easy fix?
I’ve not assembled the top loader lids, but from what I understand it’s a bit of a faff involving packing the hinge with a specific quantity of silicone grease.
So - possible fix? Probably (the real expert on these still works at Naim).
Easy fix? Probably not a DIY job.
