Sounds interesting. I presume it is not as big a difference as the cable change? I’ve just noticed what the price of Vodka 0.75m is now.The C-Stream becomes more of a win, win
Difficult to say. The two moves, full-loom and F1 PS work well together nicely in my system…it just sounds ‘right’.
Networks are fairly idiosyncratic it seems from the many posts here. I’m relying on my ears to guide my choices.

Always a good idea to use your own ears, rather than another persons
Please can you point me in the right diction, where you purchased the F1 from?
Audiologica - Only to discover the UK distributor lives 15mins from me. It was hand delivered that evening.

Thank you, for the directions.
Looking at the pictures of the Forester F1, not sure if I have room in Fraim to stack F1 and EE8 switch. I see that the D.C. output socket (F1) and DC input socket (EE8) are located in the same position on on each box. So if I cannot stack them, cable will have to be long enough to connect between the two in a horizontal plane, rather than vertical when stacked. I have looked at many different sites, including manufacturer’s, but cannot find the length of the supplied DC cable. Therefore, could I please trouble you for this dimension, by knowledge or measuring the cable length.
Without disconnecting it for accuracy - I’d say at least 50cm. The switch sits happily atop the PS if you are pushed for space.
G
Thank you, Prof. I knew you of all people, would understand the importance of measurements,
I just wanted to check, as your photo at the top of this thread, shows an shorter alternative cable you tried…
Tried it again yesterday…definitely not as good as with the supplied black cable.

Heading to the football today. Installing mine tomorrow after some listening to perhaps facilitate a comparison, as much as you ever can. Had some interesting issues with my Zenith this week which amounted to “you have a wireless bridge” so I do appreciate that the Chord into the female to female adapter into a short run of ethernet will not be optimal. However, hopefully there will still be sufficient gain.
Update. Ordered Forester F1, should be here Tuesday.
@NoNaim Whilst checking the black cable length I touched the top of the EE8 and noticed a bit of low-level vibration transmitting from the PS into the casework of the EE8. I’ve split them now for good measure.
G
Thank you for letting me know. I had already planned to separate both boxes, upon receipt of Forester. Hence, my query about the D.C. cable length. I have never been a fan of stacking electrical/electronic boxes. I dislike it from an aesthetic point of view and also more importantly , the strange anomalies it can introduce. You have also separated the two boxes the best way, by keeping the F1 toroidal transformer the furthest side away from the EE8.
I’ve also ‘Pritt Sticked’ the little rubber rings on the feet of the EE8 which seems to have bedded them more permanently onto the metal feet.
G
I had the same problem with my EE8. The rubber ‘O’ ring feet kept coming off. In fact my initial EE8 unit, when unpacked, had one missing. I found it loose, at the bottom of the box. Second one, was okay on receipt. However over time, feet started to come loose if moving box. Got fed up with this, so removed all four rings. Applied a small fine application of Super Glu to the channeling in the bottom of each foot.
Reinserted and applied ‘O’ rings into channeling of foot. Problem solved, rings no longer detach from feet and all in time for a nice cup of tea
And how much was this box?
Just over £400. So you would think that Chord or who was sub-manufacturing them for Chord, would have got the BLOODY GLUE RIGHT FOR THE ‘O’ RINGS ON THE FEET.
I think it was just a few that had problems with the O rings on the feet coming loose. No issues with my EE8 when I had it.
Probably just a batch problem, like Naim had with logo bar on the Uniti range. I know there were a few with the feet problem, just not sure if all in the same batch or there were more than reported out there. I did not notice upon removing my ‘O’ rings, that whoever was applying the glue, was not exactly being liberal with the quantity.
