Hi everyone as I have just had my Nait 2 serviced at Class A by Darren ‘ i was wondering if the 2 x 3 meter lenghts of Chord epic speaker cable I have are a bit overkill and would not give the right synergy as far as PRAT is concerned with the Nait? . I have been using 2 x 5 meter lengths of old Linn K20 .. What are peoples thoughts.. Is this a reasonable match ?

Old Linn K20 is the same same as Naca4
I found these a bit bright but am really happy with Kudos KS-1
The chord might be similar worth a compare if poss.
No regret for me KS-1 
I don’t like chord ohmic banana plugs I prefer Deltron or the Naim ones.

I am comparing he Nac a4 and the chord epic at the moment and seem to feel like leaving the chord epic in Place.. You are right about the Linn k20 sounding a little bright when compared to it.. Funny thing is i did not really feel the K20 was a litle bright only when the Chord epic went in did i notice..

I think there might be light DNA at some point.
If it sounds best to you then stick with it. 
I use 3m pair Kudos KS-1 with my Supernait 3

We use Chord Epic in our system and it’s excellent but our system isn’t Naim. With the Nait 2 being an early Naim amp my understanding is that it needs Naim NACA4 or NACA5 to provide the required electrical characteristics for it to perform as intended. The more recent Naim amps are much more tolerant in this respect I believe. Linn K20 is essentially NACA4 I believe.
If you prefer the sound of Chord Epic, and yes it is a smooth and full bodied sounding cable, then I would use it provided you obtain confirmation that it is safe for the amp. This is important or you could run into trouble sooner or later.
I’ve used Chord Epic in Naim and non Naim systems. I have found it satisfying and unobtrusive.

Well I think your worries are potentially well founded. Perhaps Richard may provide a definitive answer. Until then stick with the Linn cable to be safe.

Remember that length will affect performance. Naim cable was designed to work at 10m, with a range of 5 to 20m for optimal performance: that gives your 5m Linn cable an advantage over the 3m Chord, in addition to the construction of the cable being better. It’s the same ‘shotgun’ construction used in all Naim cables, Tellurium and a few others that helps provide the optimal inductance and capacitance the amp needs.
Whether you have a subjective preference for the more expensive Chord cable is another matter.

I have the minimum 3 meter lengths ..The Indutance is I believe not quite as high as Nac A5 but from what I hve read very close.. The capacitance is low … Thanks ver much for this..

Well the amp seems to run at the same temp with Linn K20 and the Chord epic. the speakers i use are Harbeth PS3 .. The little BBC LS35A type…
Try both cables if available, no harm done, choose your own winner or buy a longer/better cable.
