Chord GroundARAY - brilliant or bollocks?

Nicely done.

I was going to add that I take your point about supply chain issues, the Xmas scaremongering was simply something I’ve found frustrating and might have started a topic about in the Padded Cell separately - it’s a real issue but too fragile a topic to discuss without inadvertently straying where we shouldn’t.

Oh, and the ‘for heaven’s sake’ is just me thinking out loud and was no way meant as a comment directed at you - it’s simply something I’ve been frustrated with in the media in recent days. Hope that makes sense.

Best wishes, AC.

Yes, sometimes just too easy to comment on thinsg out of context - I was seriously considering a post about all this ‘semi-bare shelves at Christmas’ malarkey a few days ago - there are far more important things going on in the world but there we go…

Christmas - brilliant or bollocks?

You’d never be able to ask the same about other ‘religious festivals’ I suspect.

The religious aspects are important to many, not to others, but should be respected.

The worsening commercial aspects are dubious at best.

Okay off topic. Like many things Christianity has hijacked Xmas originally a pagan festival. Enjoy however you wish.

Back to GroundARAY or we’ll be cancelled too.

Don’t disagree, and nowt wrong with pagan beliefs/festivals either.

Youngsters of today may say the same in 30-40 years time about their memories.

I don’t actually have an issue with the whole ‘Santa’ concept etc and the commercialism in my childhood, just that things have just become completely daft now - honestly think think things were better, simpler and happier 40 years ago…Today’s youngsters may be saying the same in 30 years!

A festivus for the rest of us. Let’s begin with the airing of grievances.

Well i’m all ready for the next subjective review of the GroundARAY, my audiophile bingo card is on the table. Who’s up?

(loosely inspired by Darko’s buzzword bingo  )

The Statement manual, perchance?

I think my proposed design of a flower pot filled with earth and a plant would tick the bottom left hand box, especially if the flower pot was clay rather than plastic, which might be an important change to the specification, akin to DR on Naim amplifiers.

You been on the Pinot Noir again Mr H?

I never drink anything on a Saturday evening Lindsay…(he lied)…….

Anyway this absurd thread makes a change from telling people that they should read the 4.8 legacy streamer firmware installation instructions, like @Naim.Marketing told them off and on all day yesterday and the day before.

I’ve been secretly working on this for a while, seeking the perfect earth.
The best material is ironstone, it has a strong gravitational bond with earth, it’s semi conductive & forms a drain path for all noisy electrons over the entire RF range.
The rest I have researched in depth & found it to be an unfathomable science that cannot be understood by any & as such I cannot publish any data on it as it would fail to be a true audiophool product.

Argh gravitational bond. On another forum when cable wars were in full flight particularly on the issue of directionality @Polarbear and myself used to advise them to lay their cables pointing in the general direction of Stonehenge. The advice was always well received

Wouldn’t mind putting my hifi in that.

Of course the beauty of charging 500 quid for a stick of metal is whoever thought it was a good idea to spend that is hardly likely to run a hack saw through it.

Therefore lets assume its full of Jelly beans from the Jelly Bean Factory, but the very unpleasant cinnamon ones.

Excellent. You need a suitable pseudo-technical brandname. The obvious ones Chord and Tangent have been taken already, but Spherical has a nice rounded sound and is I think free. Or “Hemisphere Mike”, also available with oxygen free “gold nuggets” under the name “Taking the Michael, grounded” sound promising, but not too definitive.

I see real promise here. What can possibly go wrong, as long as HH doesn’t ask Richard to close the thread?
