Practical question:
Can I use a Chord Epic X 2 x 1,5 meter with a Atom or CI102? My loudspeakers are Dali Menuet SE.
I will use this set in my kitchen and the loudspeakers are standing very close to the Atom or CI102. Atom is my favorit but a CI102 is also in the picture. In fact 1 meter will do but I think this will be to short.
The Atom is pretty tolerant, though I’d have a word with Naim Support just to be sure. I’d also consider whether a mu-so might be a better solution.
It is my experience, longer cables sound better on Naim kit.
In this case I’d buy a thinner cable in double length, to easier coil up and away, cables like Kudos KS1 or equivalent size Chord Co.
We use Chord Epic X in our system but we have large floor standing speakers. It’s quite thick and stiff so if you are going to use longer lengths it will be problematic to deal with the excess neatly. Use it by all means if your Atom is comfortable with shorter lengths - it’s an excellent cable. Otherwise I would use one of the thinner Chord cables or Kudos KS1 which seems to be highly favoured by many here.
