Chords new intergrated amp

bear in mind those people aren’t spending your money so it doesn’t matter.

Esoteric have quite an elaborate multibox streamer. 4 boxes for the source (transport, clock, twin mono DACs). Add their preamp, power supply, and monoblocks and you have 8 boxes purely for streaming.

Now whether that is “fleecing” someone is a matter of opinion. It’s certainly too rich for me. But for people who want these things in one box, they can just go buy a Nova. And if they think anything more is a con they can stop at a Nova too. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that - it’s serious hifi.

But really, in terms of conspiring to shaft the consumer, I think the outrage is misplaced. Insurance providers, financial institutions, real estate services, big tech are walking away with everyone’s money and making a killing. These hifi companies that are fleecing people are barely surviving.

To be fair, even I have 4, NDX2, QNAP NAS with Plixir power supply and EE8 switch! Although the switch is also used for TV so could be discounted I guess.

I still dream of having close to one box though. Would love to hear an Aurender AP20 but no idea whether I would accept the probable compromises for the price (which is quite high!) I have heard an A1000 and whilst very good indeed for the price and less edgy than the NDX2 I did feel it lost a little excitement and engagement by comparison.

Just to be clear it was tongue in cheek. It’s hard to make that clear over the internet sometimes!
