Chords new intergrated amp

Well i saw a post on this the other day and will be interesting to see what its like and if it sells well.
But another new hi end intergrated amp to hit the market. I guess it will be at the hifi show later this month and hopefully you will be able to hear what its like. I am not going so hopefully someone will if its there.

But nice to see another, hint, hint.

If its anything like the Quartet mscaler, it might be a long wait until you can buy it.

I can’t see any info of a new release but a good chum has a Chord Ultima Integrated and is very happy with it. :+1:

Chord appear to debuting the Ultima phonostage and Quartet Upscaler at Bristol. Where did you see a new integrated mentioned ?

Quartet first appeared at hifi shows in 2024 with interviews with Rob Watts, not sure why they buried it?

Hi Gary, Yes, the full launch appears to be later in 2026, so a while longer to wait yet

Wonder if they have improved it, or just market conditions or parts?

I read that Rob, and his son who is working with him part time whilst at university, uncovered an issue with the design calculations resulting in a bit of reworking and delay.

Any idea what level the new integrated is at? For example, above or below Ultima?

Hoping below, I heard the Ultima and it was good but it wants to be at 8K, was via 8K of Neat JS speakers.

Wonder if it’ll be a fully integrated.. Pre Stream and Power all in one..

I see the new Cyrus 80 has broken cover now and is at the Bristol show soon.

Their Instagram post announcing the Quartet and Ultima phono stage ends with,

“We have even more surprises under wraps. Stay tuned”

One; but they break it all up into tiny boxes to keep you spending. It’s similar to what Naim does holding back DR modules and placing them in another box.

Exactly could you imagine having 8 boxes to amplify my titan 808’s over just one.

With the streamer = 4

Bingo. All of those capabilities could have been combined in the Dave with no incremental cost, and yet… they broke it out into separate boxes just to fleece the unsuspecting.

Plus NAS and Switch and optional external power supplies, potentially 8. Add an EE1 as well…. That’s progress I guess.

I wonder what the record highest number is that anyone has!

I dread to think! Although I do own a DAVE and as a standalone its superb. At some point I will get to hear the new Quartet, but at the banded £12k (could be more) price it will have to be excellent and a complete game charger for me to part with my cash.
