Sounds excellent - look forward to it
Just booked Liverpoolās Rum Club for Nottingham Rock City in October. An indie-pop band on the up.
In May, back to Sadlers Wells (Peacock Theatre, next to the LSE) for Yamato. I still recall vividly the Japanese drummers Ondeko Za at SW many years ago. Hoping this troupe will also prove similarly memorable).
Otway & Barratt The What 3 Words tour (arf arf) at the John Peel Centre Stomo late April.
Blimey, itās 46 years since I saw them live. Quite memorable, strangely!! Lol.
I think they were supporting Nine Below Zero. It could have been the other way round, canāt remember.
Tori Amos next Thursday in Newcastle. Iām prepared to be disappointed. In her recent appearance on the BBC she didnāt look well and her voice sounded subdued. And weirdly she is doing a UK tour before the album comes out. So Iām expecting a load of new tracks that no one knows, so a lot of silence.
Didnāt they go off plan and set about destroying guitars and speakers on The Old Grey Whistle Test c. 1977?
Not aware of that Brian but all too plausible.
Found something on www from October 1977 with John Peel hosting OGWT. John Otway attempts to jump onto a speaker but trips and hurts himself. Not quite the destruction I described above.
Aristocrats , 2nd May and Robert Plant , 2nd July . Both in Istanbul .
Impromptu catching of āIst Istā tomorrow with some chums.
Karnataka at The Brook, Southamptonā¦.this evening!
All going to see From the Jam with Bruce Foxton in June in St Albans.
A mate is in the band with him.
Finally going to see another of my bucketlist groups in Aug in London - Primus, yeah!
Been a fan for decades.
Two consecutive nights at Cafe Otto in July - Tomeka Reid/Mary Halvorsen followed by James Brandon Lewis
Charlatans next week in Nottingham. I bid for guest list tickets and merch on the Nell Smith memorial fund site as my brother is a big fan and just out of hospital, found out I won this morning so thatās cheered him (and me) up ![]()
