Connecting a NAC252 to NC250 - quick question

I am connecting a NAC252/Supercap to a NC250.

I have the right cable, i.e. interconnect legacy preamp 4-DIN to new classic PA XLR. One XLR connection is black, the other is red. I guess that the red connection is left and the black one is right. Is that is correct?

There is no leaflet that goes with the cable and the NC250 manual doesn’t say anything.

I’ve always thought right is red (but I’m not sure if that’s correct).

Red is right. Black is left.
