Connecting FlatCap XS to NAIT XS 2

Sorry all noob alert. I’m looking at how to connect a second hand FlatCap XS I bought to the NAIT XS 2 amplifier. I’ve found the NAIM guide and other posts on this forum that suggest I need two Din/SNAIC cable (a 4 and a 5). My question please is this, do I really need both cables (given they’re not cheap) I get that the 5 pin will carry the power what is the 4 pin doing going from the Signal out (Flatcap) port to Power Amp in (NAIT)?

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for help a NAIM noob.

Yes, you need both. The signal goes from the XS pre via the Flatcap to the XS power.

For what it’s worth, if the improvement is close to what I have achieved with HiCap and XS2 you will be blown away. I also bought a linear power supply for my Lindeman streamer at the same time and the resulting dynamics are outstanding.
