Connecting Hi-Cap to SN2 do I leave mains connected to SN2

I’ve been reading up on this, and if the Hi-Cap powers the preamp only, then obviously I should leave the mains connected to the SN2 to power the power amp section, right? There isn’t any online info regarding this.
I appreciate any assistance.

Incidentally, see p 8 of the manual, which shows the use of a Hi Cap with the AC still connected to SN2
