I am trying to backup my HDX (1.7c) music files to a Sandisk 1tb storage device. My PC (Windows 11) displays the HDX in Explorer Network but when I open it it takes me to a page (http://192.168.x.x:49152/nsdevicepres.html that says:-
This is the default web page for the Naim UPnP Media Server hosted by this device. You can manage this media server through any standard UPnP Control Point.
I was hoping that it would show music files in Explorer. SMB 1.0 is enabled. I can open music files using recently downloaded Flashplayer-32-sa but it has no copy facility.
If you want a proper backup you’ll need a NAS. Then you can set up the HDX automatic backup and it will update daily after the initial backup. If you just want a copy of your existing files you should be able to find the MQ folder and copy it to a drive if your choice.
Just want to copy my music to usb storage device. I’ve tried your solution by:
Windows: Open File Explorer and click on Network in the sidebar. Look for the Naim HDX (e.g., NSHDXxxxx) and double-click to access it.
Navigate to the Music files: Browse to the Music sharepoint and open the MQ (Master Quality) folder. Inside, you will find your organized artist and album folders.
Copy the files: Select the desired albums or tracks, right-click, and select Copy
But as I said previously, I see the HDX in Explorer Network but when I open it it goes to
This is the default web page for the Naim UPnP Media Server hosted by this device. You can manage this media server through any standard UPnP Control Point.
No HDX Folders are shown. Also when I try to access system settings on Desktop Client it says
Room ID must be between 1 and 255. I operate as a stand alone and have never set up multi room.
No. I’ve read all these but, as I have already said, the Naim HDX symbol shown in Windows Explorer Network does not take me to any HDX folders. Just to the webpage described previuosly.
That seems to be a Windows issue, does it behave like that with other network drives or just the HDX? As a Mac user I’m not sure why you’re seeing a URL/IP address when you’re looking for folders: maybe a PC user will be able to help.
