Well the ECB is aboard of 11 with an executive of 12 members. Both sets of people should be accountable to the debacle of the Ashes and this recent test series. In particular, HR and Communications directors, as well as the chief executive and managing director, need to take a long hard look at their corporate set up and performance.

After last winter and this summer, so far, I think the test team set up needs a major overhaul and this must include Rob Key if it is to be taken seriously.
From recent interviews I find Brendon McCullum very confusing without a clear explanation as the where the team is heading.
With franchise cricket offering big pay days it will not be an easy or straightforward task.

It will be interesting to see how many of the Bharat Army are in the crowd, as many often book final tickets well in advance. The Lord’s strip seemed to play very differently to The Oval strip, the latter being very batting friendly. Like @Collywobbles , I see SA as a big hurdle, as they have decent bowling and a batting line-up with plenty of power.
The open question remains as to whether NSB will play, and who might make way? I think England’s top 3 (AJ/DWH/SD) look prone to fragility, and you need to retain HK to steady the ship if needs be.

Well, the WI women were suitably despatched by the Aussies with little problem. I’m convinced that on their day the WI could give any team a really good game, but they are often literally ‘hit or miss’. I’m expecting to see quite a few blue shirts at the final, as many India supporters love their cricket.
Deep breath for today. The weather looks good, the strip looks good.

The West Indies froze in the middle of a heat wave. Sad to watch
And the 1st Eng v India men’s T20 in Durham was washed out after India posted 189. Shame for Durham after such a dry spell.

I’m waiting for India to use their not-so-secret weapon that is Sooryavanshi. Kumar S has spoken very eloquently about him, noting the latter’s role in the IPL with RR. The Sky team keep referring to S as a child, but he didn’t bat like one in the IPL.
@Ian2001 – in the WI’s innings, the drinks breaks (really - after 6 overs!!!), were more coaching breaks.

Yes, and the momentum is being killed. I fully accept that a drinks break in a fifty over or test match , but unless the weather is baking hot …
I think the drinks breaks at the World Cup are as popular a VAR …

How silly of me not to realise. I was wondering on Tuesday why the Women’s T20 semi was at 2.30pm when most people were at work in the uk and couldn’t watch it live.
Of course when the scheduling was planned it was expected that India would be in the semi, and therefore a prime time slot in India. The best laid plans etc…
Anyway I hope England win tonight.

Well, well played NSB and HK, but England’s front-end crumple zone in evidence once again against a team which can bowl straight. Cometh the hour, cometh the Ecclestone hopefully. I think the Jones’ opening experiment in T20s needs to be consigned to history.
I have a feeling though that England don’t have enough, being 15 or so short.
I must admit I wondered if they were taking a risk with Nat Sciver-Brunt coming into a semi from injury, what do I know? The bowling looked strong, and there a lot fewer fielding errors than earlier in the tournament. They’re still second favourites for the final, but they deserve to be there.

Well, my crystal ball didn’t let me down. Bowled well and a couple of smart and very important catches 
Plus, once again, HK proved why England need her in the middle order. SA crumpled under scoreboard pressure, or perhaps better put, their batting technique did.
