D'Agostino Progression Integrated vs Gryphon Diablo 333 vs Naim 332/300/350

The local Rockna dealer specially set up a dCS Vivaldi in his showroom for a side-by-side comparison to showcase the capabilities of the WaveDream Reference Signature. He invited me to visit the showroom to compare and listen for myself. However, as I am not ready to purchase another DAC, I declined the invitation.

Wow interesting . 30k vs 150 k . If it beat vavaldi , then it can beat almost all top tier dacs already .

The retail at Chinatown ?

Norman took over the dealership.

The vivaldi apex dac is around £40k new and not £150k

Am talking about SG dollars for a full vavaldi stack in my country

A full vivaldi stack is much more than just a dac, it’s an extra 3 boxes

Am curious how it sound that can best the dCS , in anyway ., although not gonna let go my dcs , in fact gonna get the clock

Ya. So am curious how this rockna sounds that can best or compete w the stacks with just a dac at 20-25% the cost .

As with everything you will read many reviews with very mixed results.
On other forums it has had mixed results.
But it looks like system synergy is key as it is with everything to get the best out of things.
But one can only try for themselves

Ya agree .. what sound good in one system may not sound good in another .

Another point to think about is future investment.
It’s ok buying something now, but in a few years time it’s nice to know that your investment will more than likely still be inpoved by the manufacturer and not just forgotten about.
Obviously the time will come with everything, but knowing that the company involved will do it’s best to look after you certainly is a good place to be.
I can’t comment on the other dac in question, but i can on mine. It’s now been over 12 years since it came to market and still its getting updated, upgrades, etc. Most companies would be on many different models by now and each time the owners would lose many thousands.
Just something to think about in a very fast changing environment.

That’s y I chose dcs , beside its mind blowing sound it gives , it’s future proof .

And I am so willing to throw in so much $$ for cables just for the dCS !

I so love  my dCS :joy:

I know you have a dcs dac.
I was just pointing out a few things like i do😆

As for cables then that’s a completely different rabbit hole to go down.

This all makes sense.
For me this wasn’t one company Vs other neck to neck. This was just another sound signature which fits me and my system better. I’m not saying one DAC is better than other, it’s just this time I liked this particular one much more than other. As you say it needs to fit the system and listeners preference.

Haha what a coincidence. I can only ask you to try the DAC at home and tell us what you think. We have the same amplification, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
