Very sad to just hear that she passed yesterday, at the age of 97. What a great and long life, a really great singer. Sympathies for Alec and Jacqui.
A really bad week for musician passings.

Very sad to hear about this. RIP Cleo, or join up with Johnny in the next life and keep everyone there entertained.
Shakespeare and all that Jazz is one of my favourite albums. I’ll play it this evening in her memory.

Cleo and Johnny were sponsors of the excellent Stables theatre on the outskirts of Milton Keynes. A fantastic legacy in so many ways.
And their two offspring, Alec and Jacqui, are such talented musicians too. Only saw Alec perform less than a couple of weeks ago. Both are a chip off the old blocks.
It’s Grim…
RIP
Wow……what a dame…….what a career and loss
I’ll put on her Sondheim album. A long time favorite.
She reached a great age, but her musical legacy will continue.
I was amazed to read that she was self taught as a singer - and that her Mum was from Swindon.
Can’t believe I missed this news. I’ve seen her perform live 5 times, and really enjoy her music! I’ll have to raise a (belated) glass of something good in her name as I play a couple of her albums this evening!! Must say it’s a shame she departed with so little fanfare in the national press, but the world of jazz knows her worth and her children are doing a fine job of carrying on her legacy!!
