Nope. My app doesn’t look anything like that on the ipad I’m running it from. It is quite an old ipad though. Maybe I need to get hold of a Macbook and try it from there.
See my earlier post, you need N-Serve for Mac, not N-Serve for iOS.
Showing my ignorance here. Never been a Mac or iPhone user so thought the OS was one and the same thing. I stand corrected.
Don’t worry, it’s easy to get bogged down in terminology. We got there in the end!
Marvellous. I’ve now returned the ipad to my mate and he’s given me an old Mac book with a knackered battery in it instead, but it runs off the mains pack so that’s not an issue for my purposes. I’ve now managed to reset the laptop, set up an apple account and downloaded n-Serve. All the stuff I previously deleted was sitting there in the recycle bin so that’s all gone now. Now I’ve got a proper keyboard to use I’ll have another trawl through it and delete a load more stuff off it and edit a lot of the content (genre, playlists etc). At the end of this I’ll have a nice tidy Unitiserve of just the stuff I want and all catalogued properly. Annoying when album titles are padded out with additional words like ‘remastered’,‘bonus tracks’ and ‘deluxe edition’.
As an aside, I find I quite like the Mac Book Pro and, considering it supports n-Serve and I can use it as my Naim-Focal controller too, I might get one. I don’t think I’d ever make the backward step from being a Linux user but might be better for my photo editing. Nice screen, even for an old Mac Book.
Yes, my MBP from 2014 still does everything I need it to. Just trying to decide whether it’s worth replacing the battery rather than the whole thing.
I’m fine repairing computers so a battery change is no big deal. Order and arriving tomorrow or the day after. I think I might buy one anyway as the OS on this one is no longer supported and it’s the latest one that will install unless I force a later version onto it, which may or may not work properly.
