Disable google cast on ci 102

Hi all,

In this topic: Disabling Google Cast - #14 by NogBadTheBad
Is described how to disable Google Cast, I tried this on the CI 102 Uniti and I Get this output:

{"error":{"title":"Error","name":"CMAbstractWorker::invalidPath","message":"Node at path 'settings:/googlecast/tosAccepted' does not exist"}}

Is there anyway to disable it in the CI 102?

Maybe Stevesky can provide a new link?

Thanks

Hi @Picht,

Try:

http://192.168.0.10/api/setData?path=settings%3A%2FgoogleCastLite%2FtosAccepted&role=value&value=%7B%22type%22%3A%22bool_%22%2C%22bool_%22%3Afalse%7D

(change the IP address from 192.168.0.10 to the one of your streamer).

Then power cycle the CI102. Same applies for Focal Diva and Focal Mezza.

Tried it, of course changing the IP, then no luck, message was:

{"error":{"message":"Unable to parse value: Unexpected character","name":"error","title":"Error"}}

Then made a "mix" of the url in the other topic and then I got this in the browser:

{"timestamp":1762021307378,"value":{"bool_":false,"type":"bool_"}}

Ended op using this url:

http://192.168.1.21/api/setData?path=settings%3A%2FgoogleCastLite%2FtosAccepted&role=value&value=%7B%22type%22%3A%22bool_%22%2C%22bool_%22%3Afalse%7D

Basicly I put in the word Lite after googlecast.

power cycled and done!

Out of curiousity can it be enabled again by simply changing false at the end to true? Or factory reset is the only option?

Hi @Picht,

The forum has decided to reformat the API request by putting in matching curly double quotes etc. grrrr!

I’ll update the post above until it’s a legitimate copy and paste command.

Regarding turning it back on, either set that API to true on the bool payload, or just run through the Googlecast setup wizard in the app. Various terms and conditions docs need to be reviewed / accepted.

Thanks for the info.

The background of me wanting to disable google cast is Spotify. I now have 2 naim devices in my home. A 222 with new nap 250. And the ci 102.

When both devices are on. (Either fully on or standby doesn’t matter.) I can only chose for google cast in Spotify. When googlecast is off on one the devices then i can do spotify connect.

Theres a topic on the spotify forums about it. I disabled ipv6 on the naim devices. Reinstalled spotify app on phone etc etc. But no luck.

I prefer to have googlecast turned on. Then i can make a group in google home and stream to have multiroom from spotify.

Link below is to the spotify topic.

I have an Android phone. Galay S22.

If you use Spotify Connect to play to one of your streamers, you can then use Naim multiroom (selected from within the Naim app) for creating a multiroom group. No need for Google.

Yes! Didn’t know that but it works. Only thing is the volume control. If i press the vol up or down butten on the phone within spotify only one of the devices is responding. Maybe this is due to technical limitations. It would be nice to have 2 responding devices.

Can i do this also within the Tidal app when using tidal connect? Or Qobuz connect? Or do I have to do this within the naim app?

Apple will not allow Naim to access the software volume controls on an iPhone, so you need to use the Naim app where you can control volume on all devices from the same screen.

The same applies to Connect in the Tidal and Qobuz apps, although you have the option to control them from within the Naim app using multiroom.
