I find it strange if Naim doesn’t release something new, and very soon.
There’s a lot missing in their portefolie.
Why would Barco take over Naim ? if they didn’t have a vision for new audio kit.

Probably the new owners will let Naim carry on in a way they want along with i am sure some multi channel amps for the cinema and professional set up market. As i should think thats why the new owners bought Naim in the first place. For it amplifier department.

The Nova is very capable at £4,400, the pricing of the PE vs this is mind boggling to me and a 222/250 is £11,500 (and the last time I heard that combo there wasn’t a cat in hells chance I’d trade my Nova for it).
That’s a yawning pricing chasm crying out for some product to fill. The folks finding c£5k to upgrade their Nova or Atom today are the folks who will be spending £10-20k in a decade or so from now.
The current product/pricing profile is a function of short term private equity greed, hopefully the new owners will be looking at sustaining Naim on a long term basis.

Some of the comments on the Barco takeover mentioned naim being allowed to bring exciting new products which were under R&D to market.
No idea what these are, and no hints yet of anything to come. No new FCC filings.
Accounts are due soon, so I guess we will see how NC sales fared in 2025. Bottom line figures might influence when/if there are new product launches (and of which type).
Everyone can see the glaring holes in the product range. But unless naim are viewed as a vanity project, new products need to generate sales/profits. Market conditions are, and will remain, challenging in the UK core market.
The impact of component shortages and lead times has been well documented too.

Isn’t the Focal powered by Naim Diva Alta Utopia active speaker a new Naim product? It was announced earlier this month. Of course I understand that a new Focal powered by Naim product is not the same as a new Naim product. But there is Naim design, Naim innovation in there.

Naim have actually released 12 products in the last 3 years - 8 NC and 4CI
I’m glad we don’t get an array of new products every 12 months….
That said I can see some obvious gaps in the line up and personally would love a streaming pre amp at the 500 series level.
The longer the run the less depreciation in existing products although some risk to Naim of people choosing different brands.

A revamped 500 series would get my attention adding, Hyper Nait integrated, streaming preamp and maybe monoblock NAP550s. Doubt it will come to be but nothing current grabs me at the moment. I’ve been pulled fairly and squarely into the Linn/ATC ASL world so a big change at Naim would be needed to bring me back into the fold.
The main risk is likely not the long production run but the long periods with a gap in the lineup.
For example, years passed between the end of production on the 272 and the release of the (massively more expensive) 222. In that period, I suspect many users went elsewhere and formed new brand loyalties.
If Naim come back to more affordable separates now, there is a risk that the damage has already been done.

I’m sticking with my 552/ND555 active ATC’s and will likely do so regardless of new products….
My cart will need replacing on my Aro at some point and suspect my innuos Zenith will not remain current and will need replacing at some point too.
Here’s hoping Naim pull some new products out of the bag although no idea when!
My expectations are very low. (Although tbf that’s true of so much. ) Hopefully one day I will be pleasantly surprised but in the meantime my focus is elsewhere.
For the UK , if not elsewhere, it’s pretty obvious that HiFi is currently not very high on people’s priority list, new or second hand, which fact cannot possibly have escaped Naim’s marketing department.
Therefore, even if new products exist, ready to go, now may not be the best time to launch them….?

My Pioneer CT-S830S is with a repair specialist currently to fix (hopefully) a ‘humming’ capstan wheel and an intermittent cassette loading problem. Hence, I’ve been looking over the past couple of months for something else just in case it cannot be fixed. Most decks which might sound as good seem to be rather expensive and have their own issues. Even if I found one without issues today, who knows what would happen to it in future?
I really do need Naim Audio to develop and launch that mythical cassette deck!
