Do we expect something new from Naim any time soon?

100%, the name of the app says it all

But on the other side, you see frequently Focal big speakers with Macintosh, Audio Research, Boulder…
Maybe Focal doesn’t allow Naim to be seen with other brands?

Some years ago there was DCS Vivaldi with Statements, but maybe 10 years ago.

I hope we see more naim kit at shows going forward with the new owners.
Be great to see the statement kit being used and shown at the big hifi shows in the UK.
Plus with other brands would be good, to show it can work with other gear.
The statement stuff is too nice not to promote it more, would like to see it and hear it please at these shows.
Hopefully the new owners will make it happen

It would be great to see the Naim NC and Statement with ATC, Kudos, Proac, Quad Electrostatic, Kerr just to name a few…

I’ve consciously cut down my system by getting the Naim Uniti Nova - getting another box would be a step backwards for me.

Bear in mind that Focal is available in more countries than Naim and have some different partnerships.

For example, in Japan, their official partner isn’t Naim, it’s Luxman. And there are Focal Powered by Luxman display areas in dealers.

Before you know it, in the U.S. it will be “Focal powered by Boulder” (although “Dynaudio powered by Boulder” is the way to go, IMO). :stuck_out_tongue:

I take it you have never listened to Sopra N2’s powered by Naim then JDP ?

At my side , the grand utopia is powered by Hegel, not naim ..

I think the CI102 is a very interesting product, and may well find its way into a new TV system ( if I move)
Feed the HDMI signal in from the TV and I get streaming and a decent amount of power in the amp
A quality headphone system in the new Man Cave .

Excatly, being there is all that matters along with a musical experience.

I’m quite sure few competitors have a chance against Naim Statement amplication, price untold.

I would however prefer, they don’t use Focal loudspeakers to possible destroy the good sound.

So called “High End” expensive kit is often without the Prat, but boring hifi sound only.

Few if anyone, has defined what is high end ?

The Naim Statement is indeed a magnificent amplifier.

It’s a success both in terms of industrial design and sonic performance.

In that sense, it’s a timeless product and will probably remain in production for many years to come, much like the NAP 500DR.

To me, those two amplifiers perfectly embody Naim’s design philosophy.

That said, I’m curious about what leads you to conclude that the competition (and there certainly is some) is boring and lacks PRaT.

Which Naim amplifiers have you actually owned or lived with, and which alternatives have you compared them against in your own system?

Cheers,
Thomas

I’m not a Focal fan myself, but the first time I heard a full Statement set they were driving top Focals from the Utopia Evo line in a large space and the setup sounded magnificent. I particularly remember how convincingly full church organ was reproduced. Sure, I’d like to have heard other speakers as well, but no way did those Focals “destroy” the sound.

Some like the boogie factor and some like the technical exercise of extracting every last detail.

We probably all have our personal preferences on a line between those two points.

I tried the 30k linn all in one and it was superb, and a smooth detail to die for but after a 2 week demo it went back - it just didn’t grab me like Naim but if preferences were more towards detail then it’s an excellent solution.

I’ve never had DCS at home but attended a innuos demo of their latest high end product! It was paired with Vitus and DCS. Technically superb and most of the other listeners (all old) had DCS set ups but it didn’t do it for me…. Again technically superb and if your preferences are on the detail side then I can see why you would want one but not for me.

No right or wrong here, our preferences, rooms and hearing ability all come into play!

Well, I don’t have any SACD’s!

I think that in their illustrious history, Naim Audio have come up with several products that have redefined the state of the art. It would be interesting to hear a ‘no holds barred’ streamer. It goes without saying that I wouldn’t be able to afford it!

Everybody who knows anything about hifi and has been to a show has heard Naim Focal combination. They are nearly always there. But If you only do the same thing year after year it dies. Naim must start getting their great amps in other booths besides their own.
