Does the 300DR deserve a Powerline as standard?

It surely does deserve to break the ‘500 series only’ rule, no?

Yes I think so its a great bit of kit…that is very revealing…

Well I guess there’s a cost ratio point here but a Powerline has materially improved the performance of every single piece of equipment I’ve tried one on.

If Naim give in to that approach surely it will only be a matter of time before people start asking for one for their Muso

Im not sure Russ can. The entry to that figure 8 socket on the muso is tight. The naim supplied cord is weedy, but flexible. The mcru one is chunky and actually holds the muso off the ground/stand. I.e. not flat.

Ah yes, I see what you mean about the lack of clearance. Still if you’re so inclined…

Looks more flexible than the mcru offering.

It’s a bit of a strange one. A classic finish 555PSDR at £7.5K comes with a Powerline (and nicely boxed it is too) so naim obviously think it deserves one.

A 300DR at £8.6K doesn’t include the PL.

Go figure.

We will have Powerlines on all 5 powered boxes in new system. On old system they made an appreciable difference.

That wouldn’t stop someone asking for a fig8 version!
