Can’t download it from my roosters land.
Unfortunately I much prefer her albums from debut 90’s. If these albums were produced in dsd , I would buy. But generally most DSD for well known artists exist only on HDTRACKS or Acoustic Sounds. And not available here.

I found 2 of her albums on HDtracks, they are available in AIFF, flac and wav format… that’s why I’m asking - Is it important for you to have her in DSD.?
And for an exchange the files I do prefer “wetransfer”
I suppose I know why we receive DSD128 and FLAC 24/192 files differently:
- NDS / ND555 uses PCM1704 (24/96)
- Nova / NDX2 uses PCM1791A / PCM1792A (24/192)
PCM1791A / PCM1792A have some feature in the specification:
- DSD Format Interface Available
I did not find a mention of DSD at PCM1704. Perhaps these feature ensure that DSD files sound better on these chips.
I did another test today. I bought an album from the Hiresaudio website:
From Hiresaudio I ordered it in FLAC 24/192 (2.2GB), previously I bought it from NativeDSD in DSD128 (5.4GB).
When it comes to dynamics and energy, it is at a similar level.
FLAC sounds correctly, but flat. DSD sounds more spacious, densely and naturally. Perhaps this is due to a larger number of details encoded in DSD and processing the file before DAC.
Don’t bother i listened to your album online and didn’t like it so much …so anyway thanks for your help i`m more connected to blues genre

The PCM1704, as the name suggests, only “reads” PCM.
All DSD files are transcoded to PCM before being fed to the PCM1704 chip.
There is no Naim product capable of “reading” DSD files natively. And, most probably, there will never be.
DSD is slowly put aside as a recording and replay format.
