Hiya,
I have a problem with remote control not working on my DVD5 and issue is with infrared sensor on the unit (hidden behind letter a).
I already had this and I managed to replace the sensor through local distributor, but now this part is no more available (yeah, I know DVD5 is ancient, but it is a great player).
Not having a remote is not essential for CD listening, but without it, I simply cannot play DVD audio discs because I cannot access on-screen menus. DVD5 is just fabulous with DVD audio.
DVD5 has RC5 input that, I believe, can receive signal from AV2.
My idea is to use IR extender that would handle IR command from the remote control and send the signal to RC5 input of DVD.
Does anyone has experience with it and would it work in my case?
Thanks
Ratko
Maybe @Richard.Dane .
Ratko, are you sure it’s not the handset? Did you try a reset? See the link in the old forum archive here;
If it is the logo, then I’m pretty sure this is the same part as used on other Naim kit - I’m sure @NeilS can advise here…
A reset is the right place to start.
As far as I’m aware, we can still supply both the remote & the logo/IR receiver.
Regards
Neil.

God, it was the handset, thanks for the suggestion.
I already replaced sensor once and my first thought was, oh no, not again.
Moreover, I am ashamed to admit, but the issue was the old batteries.![]()
Thanks again and sorry for bothering.
