Emma Raducanu

Wow, your psychic ability to know this is amazing!

Exactly. I should have coached Henman.

With respect that sounds a bit patronising even if you don’t intend it to.

I don’t see how it only happens in tennis - yes, casual viewers watching the latest sensation may not appreciate many nuances of the game. Mrs AC has never even understood the scoring system for example, or so she claims.

There are many sports I’m quite clueless about, football being one as it’s never appealed beyond the fun of kicking a ball around without taking it too seriously.

Are you commenting as a seasoned player/coach or someone who simply watches the game a lot?

In many sports I think finals are not always the best matches as there are high stakes and they are generally about the win.

Piers Morgan, more like, if the bumptiousness on display is anything to go by.

I’m glad I never had to see that

I think he’s mis-remembering actually.

I agree his statements are hugely patronising and pompous. He seems to think he is the only one to understand and appreciate good tennis and everyone else is ignorant and misguided.

Oh, I agree! I mean, what does Martina know about tennis?! I’m sure she will glad of some tips from someone with such expertise …

I just love my tennis and follow closely but until Wimbledon hadn’t heard of Emma. I wondered if everyone was going over the top well seemingly not. Her coach apparently said to her after qualifying in NY that it was going to take a good player to beat her. However, I think I’m right in saying that so far she has not played a top 10 player. Her achievements are fantastic but there are greater tests ahead.

A balanced view and absolutely correct in my opinion.

Yes you’re right. She clearly knows nothing about playing tennis at the highest level!
