it could completly ground the poor pidgeon XD.
As expected, FF1 and DC cable need some time for optimal performance. The FF1 wants to be plugged straight into the wall to be PRaT proof. If the recording contains depth and articulate bass, the FF1 will let it shine and a special DC cable will act as a booster. In my case, an extra benefit of the FF1 is the 2nd 5V DC powering a 4K media hub removing another psu from the power equation.
PS: used some Blu Tack to prevent the EE8 from prancing ![]()

Do you stack the EE8 permanently on top of the psu on the carpet?
Are you using the EE8 into the ER (both with posh psus) into your Zen Mini?
Are both of those together a lot better than either one of them?
Were you not tempted to upgrade the Zen first?
It’s all on a dresser (updated the pic - reflection of the wallpaper) and yes, did not notice any difference stacked or not; looks a bit tidier. Silent Angel likes to stack it as well.
Hi Jim, eR is in the living room near the ISP modem and close to the innuos and my ‘lounge’ system
.
eR is connected by cinnamon to the EE8 on the floor above and from there by vodka to the nova in the music room; according to my dealer the combination of zenmini / syntaxx lspu performes better than the zen for a bit less (but not at zenith level). fortunately the syntaxx provides 2x 12V DC so I could power the eR as well; that improvement benefits all systems. so for now just enjoying the music and no further upgrades scheduled unless a zenith mk4 is introduced… atb, SP
Because that video is posted by Silent Angel Audio (and is just an ad for its products) I think @Richard.Dane would judge that it contravenes forum rules.
Yes. Now removed.
That’s just a random Chinese switch in a black housing, not an EE at all
I see nothing in that description that says that it has anything to do with the EE 8switch. It doesn’t look like one either
It’s simply a search algorithm based on what other people looked at. Nothing insidious about it. In the search results there are two sections, one for literal hits and one for related items. Did you get it as a literal hit?
And the switch looks like a thousand other black 8-port switches that have have existed for decades. Doesn’t look like an EE at all apart from being cuboid and black.
Let’s not forget the Chord English Electric switch is simply a rebadged Bonn /Silent Angel switch, both which sell for less than the Chord.
Can you be sure tat it runs EXACTLY the same software?
Could Chord not have perhaps, tweaked the software?
It’s your point of view….not shared by those who bought the EE8, generally.
They are not identical. The EE8 has a different, more solid case & feet. I’ve had both in my hands side by side. Don’t know about the software though.
Why do you think it’s the same switch if it looks completely different (It’s not true at all that “it is designed to catch the eyes of the unwary by making it look very similar to the EE8” because it does not look similar) and nothing about it indicates that it would be the same switch???
What the hell.
So what is it now?
Apart from that, it can probably do the same basic switching job like any 8-port switch can do, including the EE and a thousand others. But if that’s what you are after, you can get a known high-quality switch by Netgear for 17.95 instead of a no-name from China for twice the money:
The claim of Chord is that the EE is better than regular switches for hifi use. Whether that’s true or not, but that’s a different argument
Honestly and frankly speaking, all the stuffs about audiophile switch and USB re-clocker exist because there are some issue(s) somewhere in your streaming system. It should not be there.
I’m so glad you told us, I will sell mine immediately
I smell Troll - and Troll bait!
