Mike, I didn’t understood. You can’t use the EE 8 with your audio system ( Ndx2…) ?
He means the shawlines are physically too big i think which cuts the number of ports available if he uses the shawlines.
Shawly a case of the left Chord not knowing what the right Chord is doing….?
I was saying in an earlier post that the Chord Shawline Ethernet leads I use are quite wide at the connection. On the EE8 switch the ports are too close to enable neighbouring ports to be used with Shawlines. In my main system this isn’t a problem as I have a Shawline from the wall to the EE8, a Chord Signature to the NDX2 and connections to the TV and Apple TV, so using 4 ports of the 7.
But in the media room, I need all 7 ports, and 2 of the leads are Shawlines, so I can’t fit 7 in. What I’m going to do is use 4 ports for the main audio and video connections, with one feeding the lead that goes upstairs to the main system, and run a second switch I already have for the computers and the Bluray (which only uses Ethernet for updates).
There was a posh box called an 8Switch,
That had all the power to bewitch.
But when it comes to plugging it in,
There’s a problem that’ll stop that grin,
And you’ll shout ‘what a son of a bitc….gun’.
Thank you!
Fortunately it sounds rather good, but a bit odd that the ports are too close for the higher end Chord Ethernet leads…
I would suggest the silly design of the Shawline’s plugs is the problem, as the spacing of the 8Switch’s ports looks standard, so you are likely to have the same problem with the Shawline on other switches/routers.
Perhaps it’s a very clever way of one having to buy more switches when using the Shawlines? I have noticed with their marking they are indeed using pictures with their Shawlines.
Perhaps they can bring out a couple of racks too. A half rack or full rack and just call them ‘ribs’. There’s a ring to it - A FULL English Electric rack of ribs please.
….I feel another Limerick coming on……
True, I had the same issue with the Allied Tellis in the media room, but it has more ports.
The EE8 goes very nicely with an NDX2 Stephen, just saying…
Hehehe. Thanks Mike_S.
There was a company called Chord,
Who’s cables only some could afford.
Their fat plugs’ll make you curse,
But their switch is worth a verse,
And many seem to be coming on board…
I’m wasted on here….
Your’e just wasted…full stop😉
The spirit of William Topaz McGonagall lives on! Having done switches, you should try one about bridges (see what I did there).
Just googled this gentlemen
Seems a little harsh Nick, I’m doing my best.
Haven’t touched a drop all morning.
Hic….
There was a young man called Pat…
No….no more Limericks….!
