And mine.
If that’s the streamer shouldn’t the arrow be going the other direction.
@anon91915252 I tried using it with the arrow pointing towards the 272 but weird things happened to the sound.
For example on the Beatles White Album track, “Revolution 9” I could hear “Turn me on, dead man” and “Paul is dead” and it creeped me out.
@anon91915252. Sorry, seriously the arrow is meant to point to the source according to Chord.
I honestly can’t tell the difference re directionality but the Wellington naim dealer who represent Chord cables are adamant the arrow points towards the source.
Frustratingly the Chord website says their Ethernet cables are directional but do not blinking well say which way the arrow should go. Can a trade member clarify this?
A few UK Chord dealers have it written up as
-Connect the cable so the arrow points from source component
Hi Hugh
Can you say in what way it’s excellent?
Did it make a big improvement in SQ when you put it in?
Have you ever compared it to a different cable (apart from initial installation)?
Thanks
Jim
All chord cables ‘read’ text from source to connected device. When there is no arrow print then a black spot on the connector marks sourceside.
This was my thinking and how the Wireworld Starlight I had on test was supposed to be connected, it why I flagged it above. That said it made zero difference though as I tried it both ways and it changed nothing, along with no worthwhile improvement over any other cable. Also direction has made zero difference for any cable including the Designer Cable cat6a floating I have in my headphone rig.
Checked for a manual in the packaging but there in’t any. Guess I got it from there site. Gonna find out…
Nothing on their site.
There were some thouhgts o this forum about this issue round 27 april. Hifiman, Peder and some others.
Sarum -T excellent ethernet cable i use it from Melco n10 to Nd555
Thank you. Cleared!![]()
I have always routed all my cables according to the print reading direction, from source to …
Thinking ethernet, my MeiCord are Cat6 so no screen connections to be concerned with, however they use colour coded twist cable management guides to manage this most important part of RJ45 connection. So if the printing direction control is correct, the RJ45 cable mngt. guides will follow.
Therefore if the mint. guides are white at one end & black at the other, that should be maintained as it passes though the LAN switch to the player So (damn it) this was an itch I needed to scratch ( go check it ) and yes it is. Now I can sleep better tonight.
And mine for up to a decade ![]()
I never heard them, but they were reputedly very good.
It is excellent in that it seems to allow the music to “breath” better. Increased space and separation instruments.
Prior to the Signature I had used the Chord C-Stream Ethernet cable. This is a very good cable but the Signature was overall was more “open”.
I have only used Chord Ethernet cables since 2012 starting with my uniti then superuniti and eventually 272, because that is what the naim dealer recommended. I was not aware of other brands at the time.
