Bloody hell, we’re merely talking hifi here. Stuff. Material goods that bring some enjoyment to a few (lonely old men mostly it seems). STUFF. Not war, poverty, crimes against humanity. I would recommend that you let people enjoy themselves and stop going around trying to ‘save’ people from what they want - and actually hear.
Not sure why there’s such an agenda against Uptone on so many hifi forums. Jealousy?
Is it a British characteristic to have so much arrogance? It’s really incredible!
I find it nowhere in other forums. And saying such self assured bollocks as ignorance versus Galilleo or audiophilia being harmful and compared to sectarianism, is PATHETIC.
Time to cultivate your own gardens , gentlemen!
From the viewpoint of someone who is fluent in English, your posts from earlier could be interpreted as being extremely rude. Where I have made generalisations, you seem to have both (by your limited understanding of the English language) taken my comments in the literal sense. It is my recommendation that you confer with someone who is fluent in both languages to translate on your behalf before jumping to conclusions and hurling insults.
One very obvious indication of changes is to do with volume. When I start an evening’s listening I tend to have the volume relatively low - say about 8 o’clock on the dial. Gradually I turn the volume up, until it gets to about 10 o’clock - maybe a little higher. It sounds good. If, for some reason, I leave the room with the music still playing and after a while return, it is unbearably loud. I have to turn it down, then gradually up again.
There is a small muscle in the inner ear which contracts as the volume goes up - and this reduces the movements of the three bones in the inner ear, reducing the effects on perceived sound levels. And this also affects the frequency response of the ear. So the sound balance will change somewhat as the volume increases. This is one reason why some older amps had Loudness buttons. We are less sensitive to low frequencies at low volumes than at high volumes. These effects are much greater than differences between (good) cables etc. On top of which are the effects of mood.
@osprey,… You’ve Understood,.and Interpreted it just right.
There is a Big,Big,Big difference between…
• “Long Experience” and
• “Superiority”.
But some here seem to misunderstand,.JUST to be able to misunderstand.
Of Course,.they have a purpose to it.
Just look at which, who are constantly “like” posts like this,.and also each others posts.
Some of them also engage in such “superiority” activities.
•I think it’s quite funny,.because when it comes such posts from these few members.
Well,.then I know almost exactly who will “like” them .
Just look at Beachcomber’s post above,.so you see what I mean .
But to you other nice members I say,.Stay safe out there…
/Peder🙂
First you accuse me of being ‘sarcastic’ in the etherREGEN thread and now you feel it is appropriate to continue these accusations with ‘disingenuous’ and ‘supercilious’ based on your interpretation of my posts. I am disappointed with your attitude and I shall not lower myself to your level.
@Peder, you keep asking someone to answer a question you have asked - yet you have a tendency yourself not to answer questions, or not until asked several times. It has happened several times in the past, and most recently in this particular thread you have yet to answer two of mine from yesterday, the first in post currently numbered 7053:
Firstly let me ask you: have you listened to these ‘burnt in’ cables in direct A-B comparison to brand new cables, as blind tests?
and the second in post currently numbered 7082:
Who does that? (In response to your assertion that some people “pat others on the head”, with long technical expositions, that have only one purpose - trying to show their own superiority.)
Then why bother replying to me? Your post I commented on was long, quite abundant in words potentially difficult to non-native speakers of English, probably intentionally, and had no scope within the thread other than to turn the knife.
That would certainly be fun. I’ve never thought of doing it myself. I don’t think I have an unburnt-in version of anything to try, but I’ll have a look.
Taking into consideration that you chose the words ‘disingenious’ and ‘supercilious’, would you care to point out which words you considered potentially difficult to understand in my post?
In addition, you now resort to accusing me of turning the knife with probable intention. I am extremely disappointed with your attitude.
