I am unsure how this might affect Naim kit that is connected to the internet, being sold or designed in the future. From my simple and very incomplete understanding, it does seem to be a good idea. Maybe more knowledgeable forum members could outline the pros and cons of it for hi-fi and other household items connected to the Internet of Things (IOT). I am guessing it is being implemented by the EU because of the risk to home and company networks from bad actors, from insecure internet-connected devices.

Ok, it was just that there was something about it today and how one manufacturer was saying that all their new products would need a password to operate due to aspects of the RED being implemented on the 1st Aug. I hadn’t heard anything about this, but it seems I am somewhat behind the curve.
