Spain, Germany, France etc. must be trembling in their boots…
…. And at least there weren’t any female commentators.
The post match interview with Kyle Walker just proved your point…
A few England ladies would probably improve this team.
Don’t know why anyone should blaim the manager. He hasn’t told any of them to play back. It’s the players. Don’t give it to me, you have it, no you have it, no you……
How does anyone know what Southgate told them?
‘cmon guys, 4 points out of 2 matches is not bad. One more 1-1 and that should do it.
Interesting to see Lineker having a pop at ‘Arry Kane
‘Arry now being interviewed “Ja, nein. Ja, nein”
Or nil nil. That would do it.
Right.
- Who should be next England Manager?
- Who should be ‘rested’ from the England team…?
The fact that we trot out the same poor performances, & make the same mistakes, game after game, strongly suggests to me that no one in the England set-up ever watches replays of the matches.
The problems seem so obvious to anyone, except the players & management/coaching staff.
Interesting analysis now on ITV.
Harry Potter!
Eddie Howe
Foden has not made any case at all for his place for me.
Bellingham was our best player on Sunday by dint of the others being less than sparkling. He was, like the rest, totally anonomus tonight &, whilst he will clearly develop into an excellent player for his country, I feel he is too young to carry the weight of expectation on his shoulders.
Seriously, nothing to lose by playing Palmer, he doesn’t seem to feel the pressure in his club shirt & may be the same in his countries one.
As it stands, it seems ashame that Maddison & Grealish aren’t available. Not a Grealish fan but his unpredictability may be what is required now.
One of the players just said, in the after match interview, they weren’t told to play back after they scored.
I’ve always defended Southgate when my friends said he wasn’t up to the job. Tonight I’m afraid he’s managed to turn some very good players into very average players.
Does he really expect to win a tournament playing two banks of four in front of Pickford?
When Gallagher came on I couldn’t help thinking Maddison would have filled me with more hope.
Pretty much made the same comment myself re. Maddison a couple of posts back.
Maddison (bless his little cotton Spurs socks) was not the person required to change things today. He’s the same style of player as the other midfield players.
What we needed was some steel in midfield. Some hard pressing. In fairness, I thought Gallagher actually put himself about much more than the rest.
This is why Hojbjerg, for example, is such an under-rated player (Spurs fans crying out for us to sell him…). True grit, as John Wayne would say…
