Depends if we play Mainoo, Palmer and Gordon or our leader continues to plod on with the regulars.
Darn, English not being my native language I was doubting to google the grammar but didnāt find the topic important enough
Gordon for who? I get Palmer for Saka, Mainoo for Gallagher but Foden was the only bright and energetic player in the half I watched.
I totally agree with Van Basten, I canāt stand Van Dijkās robotic input, he can never tell what goes wrong, only that it did. Wrong captain, no alternatives though.
Youāre just bitter about the cricketā¦
No Iām bitter cause I stayed up and watched the game.
Yep. My sympathies
The local news here just described the game as a bordraw.
Look on the bright side. Their performances canāt get much worseā¦
The scary thing is it probably can.
Hopefully not. Palmer has to start surely? Mainoo too I think, they were linking up well. Their positive and more direct play means Harry shouldnāt have to drop deep and will be presented with chances too.
Bellingham way well have been the star at Real but heās a dud since the first 20 minutes of the tournament. Bench him. Bring him on as a sub if needs be in second half when weāre 3-0 up and then he can show us why he deserves his place. Because he hasnāt yet.
Bellingham strikes me as a Lampard-like player, who advances from mid-field in to the 'box. Playing him and Foden as alternating 10 and 11s makes no sense to me ā in Englandās side, #11 can be a graveyard shift without an overlapping full-back. No wonder Bellingham looked lost.
England appear to be trying to play like Citeh vis possession football, but they donāt have a full team of talent to do this e.g. players like KdB and Doku.
One positive hint of a light in a long dark tunnel is when The English team reach the area around the opposing teamās penalty area they seem to wake up, become faster and more imaginitive thus becoming a dangerous force; the problem is it happens too little. Otherwise it was was like watching a Scottish team where most of the play making was predictable and ponderous. Players like Fodden and Saka have the tools to challenge defenders, but the whole team needs to step up to move the ball more swiftly and have people run into spaces. They should take examples from the Belgian side who have a more developed game playā¦
But without the urgency or killer instinct
Gareth Southgate is a glorified PE teacher all be it on 5 million a year, how he can come out after another abject performance and say that things are coming together and keep a straight face is just beyond me.
Heās been in charge for 8 years and last night was just another example of his poor management after the last even worse performance he makes one change to his starting 11 when last nights game was basically a free hit as we had already qualified and then that change Conor Gallagher was replaced at half time by Mainoo and then he brings Gordon on for the last 5 minutes who effectively just runs around like a headless chicken just shows how poor his judgement is.
Please for the sake of English national football just sack him now!!
Letās not forget that Southgate was a defender that played for Middlesbrough FC.
Scrapping for dull 0-0 results runs through his veins.
Hah !!! Bravo !
I nearly spilt my coffee !
He wonāt carry on after Euros either way.
Canāt help but feel there will be plenty of takers for the job, as per above post Iām not sure whoās best fit.
Unless we keep Gareth on in caretaker job for a year and then bring in Pep on Ā£10M p.a.
Please donāt. The one good thing about Southgate is that heās English. Iām sure thereās someone English thatās better. Perhaps McKenna ?
āNationalā teams with a staff of a different nationality are one of my hates in football.
The Netherlands currently lack a good striker, would it be okay to you if we just took along a foreign one for the European Championship? Iām sure it wouldnāt, but then why is everyone fine with it when itās the staff, while at the same time complaining that itās the staff/coach when their teams play badly (or well)?
