Favourite concept album

I think this qualifies, given Joe’s changes of musical mood and development in his music over the years.

Joe Jackson - Jumpin’ Jive from 1981 - his 4th studio album and a real swinger with great musicianship and vocal style throughout. It’s a collection of 1940’s swing and jump blues. I strongly recommend this if you like music with fun factor in spades. It’s one of my desert island CDs. This and Body & Soul are my favourite JJ albums.

Look out for the remastered version from c.2001.

Coheed and Cambria’s Amory Wars concept albums. I enjoy all eight of them, but my favourite probably has to be Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV, Vol.2:

Welcome Migo!
The Batik album is a favorite of mine as well.
And it is easily the best sounding album of the whole thread.
I love the book and I am very impressed with how well the musicians have translated those pages into sound.
Listening to the defeat one very vividly sees the old fisherman.

Not my favourite by any means but it certainly had a big influence.

Than there’s

From a couple of years earlier which was a big influence on that.
