Keep Hartley.
Thatâs what I was wondering. I am listening to the Bainbridge LP of him right now, BT1042.

The soundtrack of Italian holidays!
Michael Leasure was impressive last time I saw him - currently playing with Walter Trout. Solid and understated.
Another excellent drummer who also has a cracking voice is Arron Frazer of
Durand Jones & the Indicators.
Iâve never liked drum solos at live gigs. Back in the day friends would rave that during Xs gig the drummer did a 10, 15, 20, 300 minute solo, and to me it was just a turnoff for the most part.
Some excellent rock drummers that stood out for me live were Keith Moon (notwithstanding his amazing juggling ability, with permanently one drumstick in the air above him), Ian Paice, Carl Palmer and, yes, Zak Starkey. But the most musical drummer I recall, making playing his percussion like a musical instrument rather than a powerhouse of rhythm and noise, was Brian Devoil, drummer with Twelfth Night. I particularly loved his use of chimes.
Billy Cobham, Carter Beaufort , Chad Smith, Neil PeartâŚ
I think you mean Keef Hartley. I agree and thank you for the reminder. Have not heard in a long time. Therefore, âThe Time Is Nearâ is currently running.
Letâs not forget about the late, great Mr. Mitch Mitchell
Fat finger syndrome. The Time is Near was what I was playing when I thought of posting Keef.
Kodo Drummers - Blessing Of The Earth.
Now if weâre talking drums, these guys take some beating ⌠sorry! ![]()
Needs to played LOUD!
Available for pennies over on The River.
Some really odd replies. A lot of these drummers (I mean⌠âPete de Frietasâ!!! Stephen Morris. Stephen Morris!!! Ringo Starr. KennyJones ![]()

) couldnât, as Ginger once said of John Bonham and Keith Moon, âswing a sack of s**tâ.
Pete De Freitas brings emotion to the drums, I could listen to him all day, it may not be âtechnicallyâ good, I donât know enough about it but itâs brilliant music which is what weâre after isnât it?
Will check Aaron Frazer.
"I donât know enough about it but itâs brilliant music "
Someone has to like it, I supposeâŚ
You really are a music snob!
The thread title is âFavourite Drummersâ. Whether a memberâs favourite drummer can or cannot swing a sack of s**t in your or Bakerâs opinion is completely irrelevant.
âYou really are a music snob!â
I know I know⌠Itâs a dirty job but someoneâs got to do it.
