Final Thoughts On Differences Between Interconnects

I have Chord Music xlr’s for my NAP500. I’ve had them long enough that whatever I spent on them is long in the past and I dont think about it!

Depends on whether it’s “silent and violent” or “loud and proud”. Only you will know……

Have you checked the gauge of the wire on one of the many 24V power supplies we all use for domestic purposes?
Then, chacun á son gout.

It’s not the volts it’s the current and if a manufacturer changed it for safety reasons then I suppose you would argue with their findings too.
Safety first.

Max, I was not aware of this so I looked through all my collection of JV posts but couldn’t find this one - would you be able to provide the quote for me?

Richard,

here’s the post. It’s more or less what I remembered, seems to explain why the latter SNAICs but doesn’t exclude the earlier, thinner ones.

Wow - how is it?

Well, i haven’t the patience to test it first during many days, then connect the new Audioquest Pegasus XLR. But both, what a nice improvement !
So more authority and liberated sound, more effortless and more weight. Not a single stridency, and all is at its place. Well balanced.

At my side (East Asia) Acrolink is the recommended upgrade cable brand for Accuphase and Luxman as well. I expect everything will sound better with those. Also there is a tiny boutique brand called Acoustic Harmony in Japan, their cables got the best synergy with Luxman to my ears. Worth trying.

You mean Pegasus compared to your Chord Music?

I am trying the SignatureX atm and I feel like it’s quite lean and could use some more attack. Sometimes sounds a bit polite and on the thin side.

How’s the PRaT with the Pegasus?

I’m using Lavender din-din presently. It just gets so much right.

No, I mean both. Pegasus XLR and Chord Music Din RCA, replaced the two Chord signatures on the same places.
As my feet are tapping, I can’t complain. I found the same kind of sound, same signature as before, but many things are just much better. Specially weight, bass, textures, and bigger and deeper soundstage.

Ah ok. How would you describe the Pegasus compared to the Chord Music or did you never really compare them that way?

If that is so - ist a full win!

One is XLR , the other Din RCA. I went to Pegasus and Music in the same time.

After a while after purchasing my 272/250DR, I tested 2 interconnects: Chord Signature DIN/XLR and the Transparant Super DIN/XLR. Two different interconnects from two different suppliers. Both adviced me their recommendation, of course, as being the best fit in my set up (with Vivid Audio speakers).
From reviews my expectations were in favour of the Chord. In reality I liked the Transparant much more. Clearly a different character for the same price, around 1k. The Chord was more detailed and brighter, the Transparant more precise and with a better defined and punchier bass.
For me, a matter of taste.

My first Audioquest Pegasus was borrowed from my dealer. It replaced the Chord signature XLR . Then I had to return it, so Chord again.
The difference is very evident. I bought a second hand Pegasus as the dealer couldn’t sell me his demo.

100% agree

I’ve just very recently purchased a second new HiLine DIN to DIN at a ridiculously silly price from a dealer - it has made my system sound fantastic! Miles better than both my previous HiLine from 2015 and lavender/grey (stock) cable.

I’ve often thought about a SuperLumina? Not now, i’m ‘as Happy as Larry’.
