The USB input on the Uniti will only work with an iPhone or a USB stick. It would need an SPDIF connection.
I have not been worrying about the performance of my set up.
When I moved the PC to my switches rack I set the energy management on the pc to not go to sleep, except overnight.
I don’t think that’s causing the problem.
I think the problem is (decribed very roughly) as problems between the 272 being controlled by the Naim app vs Kazoo. Both of these apps are fighting to control the 272, and that may be why Kazoo keeps struggling to find the ‘room’ that the 272 is in on the network.
I’ll have another tinker with it tonight and see if I can get them working together.
Another possibility is that the Bubble upnp server is not talking to the 272 as it should?
Ah - I just read this.
Yes, this is the 2nd time I’ve tried to use Kazoo - and the 2nd time I’ve tried to get Bubble upnp server working.
Both times Kazoo was flakey and unstable - but then so was MConnect and Lumin.
There’s a newer version of Kazoo on the Apple app store, but it’s not fully developed yet AFAIK.
At least this time I have got Bubble working - and playing Qobuz and Tidal with very good SQ.
Although I wouldn’t find the 272 yesterday so I reverted to the Naim app.
To be honest, the Naim app sounds great and is stable.
I’m pretty certain that Kazoo will not be stable or good enough in various other ways to use as my permanent app.
So I’m still enjoying playing with the options and Roon is one of those options.
I like hifi dog’s idea, which sounds better than having a big ugly electrically noisy laptop on top of my switches rack.
Personally, I would reommend against a Node 2i. It worked as a streamer only and as a streamer and DAC - but the SQ in both cases was a large drop below the 272 streamer and dac.
That’s hardly surprising as it’s a pretty cheap streamer/DAC which is designed and built to give ok SQ in mid-fi systems via bluetooth and wifi (or wired). I used it wired by ethernet cable.
When I opened the Kazoo app yesterday, there was a ‘buffering’ type icon and a message saying it was looking for or trying to connect to the ‘room’ the 272 is in - but it never managed to find the 272 and so I couldn’t even open Tidal or Qobuz on Kazoo - it was stuck in hunting for 272 mode.
I could try it again now and see if it’s still happening…
Thanks - I’ll try that.
When you say “double click the home button and swipe Kazoo up” - i have an iPad so I’m not sure it needs a double click. If I click the large button on it the app will minimize and the screen shows the home page of the ipad.
At that point it would be too late to ‘swipe up’ I think - although I’m not at all expert in operating the ipad.
I’m never sure how to definitively close an app on the ipad, because when you minimise them they mostly seem to stay connected and not properly close down.
What app do you use?
Jim when you installed BubbleUPNP on your laptop did you install as an app or service?
Also have you checked the windows firewall rules to allow the relevant ports through
UPnP & SSDP (Linn DS/DSM discovery and control)
Port 1900 (UDP)
Port 2869 (TCP),
Ports 49152-65535 (both TCP & UDP)
No idea!
will have a look and see
thanks
Jim
The LMS2UPNP bridge plug-in is installed through the Logitech server software on the Zen itself. You just enable plug-ins and download it then restart the zen and it’s good to go.
yep. but ROON could not recognize de NDS…
perhaps because the Zen become the endpoint of ROON
not the same if LMS is on the server
Hmmm. Yes the option you get with the Zen is to either run it in UPNP mode - which uses the Logitech Media Server. Or in Roon mode - which installs and runs Roon as core or endpoint. (There is also an option to run both core and endpoint together)
I’m a bit late to this one but just wanted to report I’ve been using a Microroon from the Audiostore/Vortexbox. It acts as a Roon Core and has the Sonore Bridge installed and has 2tb SSD. It works superbly well and I would recommend anyone to give Martin at Audiostore a call.
Keith
Spoke to Martin yesterday about getting an LPS for my Prestige … he’s in good form, but I have to wait another month or so for one.
Presumably, no sign of the Sonicorbiter 2.8?
Indeed … we wait and wait
You’ve probably said before, but are you using the Prestige primarily as a Roon Core and endpoint, UPNP (Naim Core-style), USB into a DAC or a combination of the above?
I mainly use it as a Roon core with the sonicorbiter feeding a NDS. I also use it to feed LMS2UPnP for my ‘Qutes, which I prefer over RPi4 / Ropieee with HiFiberry HATs; however, I confess that I’ve not tested this rigorously.
i have this error message on the Internet Connectivity Test part of Bubble:
HTTP: ERROR: connectivity server error: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unexpected error: java.security.InvalidAlgorithmParameterException: the trustAnchors parameter must be non-empty
It looks like a Bubble certificate issue within Java have you tried removing Bubble and reinstalling.
Also make sure the Java version is 8.
