Firmware update NDX2 3.8.1 (5437)

I decided today to upgrade. 4 months later. No noise for over a month. Will update later! Did the update, no problems there. Switched off for an hour ish. Powered down the other bits as well as its been a while. Melco updated as well so may blur the edges a bit but will have a listen later. Its been powered ip for a few hours since and streaming radio so should be somewhat settled down.

I generally agree with this sentiment. However, I know of several situations when a firmware update bricked the system because the exiting firmware was too old to be upgraded. Hopefully, this would never happen with NAIM but beware of this.

Update went well. Sound quality is no worse. Feels like there is an improvement actually. Less harsh in the treble maybe? Could be the power off thats sorted that out though. The Melco was updated at the same time so hard to say for sure but no regrets at the moment.

Maybe the new app but the server hunting issue is back. About 1-2 minutes to find the server again whenever you want to change music which is frustrating. Maybe Naim can improve this as every other device on my network finds it instantly and always has. Removing file sharing so the ND is the only device that can use it does not help. This cropped up today with the instal of the new app with Focal Naim on it. I don’t own any Focal products but have spent a lot of money on Naim. I want the Naim logo back as thats what I own.
