e-bikes rock!

Of course being purists this was not done on e-bikes. Just human effort and a road bike.

Just finishing a few days and 250km in Brittany being chased by thunderstorms, and also Mrs W on her (brilliant) Orbea Gain e-road bike. Me on my Moots Ti.

Nice colour.

Weather? It’s a gravel bike… Or are you waiting for it to get even worse :grinning:
I had a hilarious few hours on the MTB yesterday. ‘Voyage’ would have been apt.

It’s more me becoming soft in my dotage :joy::joy:

Getting there :grinning:

Managing to work my way through all the annoying chores that didn’t get done when I didn’t have the time :joy::joy:

Still waiting for the weather to allow us to spend some proper time doing outside tasks!

Have been out riding the ‘summer bike’ past couple of weeks, a new chain has given the gear change a feel of slick perfection, and today a packet arrived with a new lower headset cassette bearing, and successfully fitted this afternoon.

The original 7 year old lower head-set bearing was becoming slightly indexed so i previously removed it, popped off the seals to clean out all the brown greasy sludge, then re-lubed with some Mobil XHP222 lithium grease.
This did improved the feel and handling slightly but not a lot… it’s probably a better idea not to faff about and simply pop in a new one.

Oddly the 7 year old top end headset bearing is still super-smooth like brand new :slightly_smiling_face:

A nice 3 hr 60k ride around West Sussex. . First one after 3 months out with back injury. A bit stiff. But not too bad.

Mrs S has had her bike electrified (Swytch), so today was a bit of a run out to check on range etc.

Next week Chichester harbour area. Then , the week after, we’re off to France to cycle down to Rouen and back to Dieppe (with a few restaurants booked :grinning:).

We are on the Billy track, Hayling Island, Hampshire. It’s an old railway line.

Just enjoying a pint of Hophead with my Indian salad and smoked salmon. Fish and chips chosen by my partner.

Total mileage, well I would be surprised if it was more than fifteen

Not sure if you saw this?

The lower one is more vulnerable to water and crap ingress…

Yes, it’s also my exclusively summer use ‘non-mudguarded’ bike.
It does avoid going out in rainy days, being retired i can choose which days to go out but there are many occasions when getting caught in rain, or when the roads are wet or puddled up, so it will cop some wet ingress.
There’s also the off time of year when it spends winter not being used which is a great for corrosion to fester.

Now it’s the winter bike’s turn to sit in the shed for six months, after a wash and brush-up:
