The usual 19 mile hilly today, headwind mostly outward, and 30mph tail winds to rocket me back home… makes me feel 30 years younger cruising along at 25mph so effortlessly.

Also back on the summer bike with summer kit  :ok_hand:

However, going along one lane briefly followed a tractor with trailer which smelt every bit a prime ripe dung spreader, it gathered speed and went on ahead. A mile later i had the unpleasant experience of negotiating some of its bomb-bay contents that oddly lay freshly plopped across the road… an inch think, wet and stinky, no idea why farmers need to fertilise tarmac (?) :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Back home after a shower, kit in washing machine; sat in the armchair but could smell :poop: how bad the aroma really is :grimacing: so took bike outside for a serious decontamination wash :biohazard: :face_with_medical_mask:

Lots of riding lately - 120 hours since start of March. Need a couple of days off to recover and hopefully get physiological adaptation embedded :crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2:

Yeah, that’ll be better.
I’ve only just bought it and my dealer needs to set it up.
It’s also missing some nice pedals

Out along the coast recording the journey on my new Osmo Action 6.

Waiting for the Hayling ferry for a trip up the Billy track.
It’s a lovely still morning.

Lunch spot, looking out over some old oyster beds. Portsdown Hill on horizon.

130k in persistent rain. 11 degrees felt like 6 degrees. Legs tired and power way down. I was definitely the nail today.

Need a few days off…..

Nice day out today and I am feeling fitter after a back spasm induced layoff. Just great to be out in spring sunshine, although it was pretty cold early on. Bluebells, wild garlic, and spotted a short-eared owl patrolling a field a few miles from home. Usually see one every few years, seems to be in spring too.

Had a good 50k ride with Mrs W in Norfolk this week too. Very flat! We spent most of the week kayaking on the Broads-with lots of wildlife, including a very close encounter with a Marsh Harrier that I think was sizing my wife up as a snack. Quite spectacular. Generally we find that birds and other animals (for example otters in Scotland) are not too disturbed by the kayaks and we can get surprisingly close at times.
