Focal announces Apple Music and Amazon music streaming coming to the Focal Naim app soon

At a CES interview with the AVS forums the focal representative said that both Apple Music and Amazon music are coming to the app. I have attached a link to the video below. time index 10.37

Not something I’d be bothered about, but I’m sure others will like it. What isn’t clear is whether all Naim products will get Apple and Amazon, or just the Focal gear and maybe the CI Uniti which uses a different streaming board to the main Naim range.

He said it’s coming to the app to me, it makes it sound like it’s all products that use the app I use Apple Music so this would be awesome for me and it would be great news for Naim making the streamer as a much easier purchase for some people

That soundbar is a Naim product branded Focal. They are steeling the Naim ID and knowledge for their Focal branded products. Not OK. Thieves!

Have apple opened up Apple Music now? I’m skeptic.

Yeah, I’m not happy about how the soundbar is being handled either? I just hope he’s telling the truth about Apple Music and it’s not just marking BS.

I guess it’s just allowing to mirror over AirPlay. Cannot find any news about Apple opening up for third part integration.

All Musos have used Focal drive units, so all of them are a hybrid of Naim and Focal technology.

Naim for Bentley also uses Focal Speakers, I believe, and I expect the Marine stuff is a mix of Focal and Naim, too.

I am not a Focal fan, but considering Focal has a presence in AV, it makes sense for the sound bar to be sold under the Focal brand.

The app controls quite a range of devices with support for different services. There are quite a few that the 1st gen streamers don’t support (Qobuz, Airplay, Chromecast) and the Focal products have a completely separate area of the app, so I don’t think it’s a given that all devices will get these new features. We’ll just have to wait and see.

If by “Apple Music coming” they mean streaming through Airplay 2 and not natively like Eversolo is doing in their products then it is not lossless, we’ll have to wait and see…
