A joy for all cat owners.

Or the 350 (depending on impedance, it’s 350W into 4 ohms).

They launched the Custom Install kit at the beginning of the year. It may not be of great interest to old-school Naim users (although Steve Sells’s description of the pre-amp was impressive), but it was a fairly major product launch for them.

Very impressive and I can see why you are proud of this @Stevesky

Do you have any patents on this? The application of high fidelity audio over this sounds eminently patentable.

Is the UWB just for speaker to speaker connections, or might it be possible to use it for source to speaker connections (I’m assuming there’s basically a NC streamer stuffed in their getting stuff via wireless Ethernet)?

Well done. Love to see this kind of innovation.

From Audioholics site:

“ The wireless interlink is limited to 24 bits/96kHz, so signals with higher sampling rates will be downscaled. Luckily, the DIVA UTOPIA speakers ship with a “Hi-Res Link cable” which can be used instead of the UWB connection. The use of this cable increases the resolution of the inter-speaker link to 24 bits/192kHz, and obviously removes any lingering concerns about dropouts. Either way, the loudspeakers’ internal clocks are controlled by Naim’s Intelligent Dynamics Clocking (IDC) innovation, which reportedly ensures that the audio data is transferred between the two loudspeakers with “impressive speed, reliability, and precision,” so the left and right channels remain perfectly synchronized.”

Saw this in the streaming section, room correction as well via the app?

Downscaling shouldn’t really hurt sound quality on its own. Sure, it might annoy some purists, but not having to run a cable across the room sounds pretty appealing to me.

It doesn’t bother me neither. I have no files more than 24/96, apart some DSD which sounds better on 16/44 .

Seems unlikely. I reckon we’re already seeing box counts reduce as well as the number of systems with multiple stacks and so on. But I guess there’ll always be some enthusiasts who want multiple boxes and, I suspect, firms to supply them. I think Naim are being very smart covering both sectors of the market whilst maintaining their reputation for SQ (I hope).

Why pay less if you can play more.

…but these need cabling FR :frowning: …which will probably add another large cost to the bill!

Must have used the same advertising agency as when the (un-cabled) Solstice was premiered

Hi @sihctr

RE: Active speaker platform only

The streaming platform used in Diva is our latest generation and has also featured in the recently launched Naim CI102 room player. iMX8 Quad Core 1.8GHz, with a big SHARC DSP thrown on the end now running in a mix of 40 and 64bit audio processing. We also moved to gigabit ethernet and wifi6 MIMO in this platform.

It will be appearing in many a future product. :sunglasses:

Unlike most manufacturers, we have ensured code wise that it’s multi-platform and we handle all the inner differences, so the 3 different chipsets used over 10years automatically get a code build from the same source code.

Best

I wonder how the Naim dealers feel about this type of product? The time served easy step by step upgradability is surely lost. Very room aesthetic friendly though.

I would guess that it addresses the needs and desires of a different kind of customer.

I imagine it fits very nicely into the FPBN stores.

Indeed. It’s just a long way removed from the JV, PS tenures where the MO was the no compromise pursuit of top sound quality.

Let me guess gigabit Ethernet is no longer ‘noisy’

You can hear them today and tomorrow at the Staverton hifi show.
But think it’s best i dont say anything about how they sounded, we didn’t last long, that’s probably enough said.

Exclusive to FPBN stores, I think. I can see it being used as a bit of a carrot to persuade the likes of Sevenoaks to dedicate in store space to the brands. I’d imagine those guys want something in this category but much much more accessible in terms of price though.

Indeed, I think Naim now earn most of their profit through their lifestyle products. Concentrating on this area will keep the company going, but hopefully, enough to support their original products.
