I am using focal/naim app on my iphone and it works perfectly. However, if I try and use focal/naim app on my apple mac then the app will NOT let me access the NAS drive (so I cannot select/play FLAC tracks stored on NAS drive).
I am baffled because it works perfectly via iphone.
The MAC is connected via ethernet to our network.
The apple mac will let me stream radio stations from the internet - so the problem is limited to not being able to access the NAS drive via the mac.
Any help appreciated as I am completely baffled (and feeling somewhat frustrated!).
Presumably you mean that your UPnP server (probably running on a NAS) is not visible in the server input on your streamer? Is the server input enabled on the app on your Mac?
How frustrating, could it be that you have some security set on your NAS generally or its Music directory in particular which is making it invisible to the app on the Mac?
Hi Jonathan, that’s a good question- I’m not technical as you can clearly see - I’ll get someone to check that aspect out. Thank you. Logically though if that was the case I’d have thought my iPhone would have been unable to access it too?
Which Software on the NAS are you using as a UPnP server?
What router are you using?
has it ever worked?
What is the physical route of the ethernet connection between your Mac and the router? I.e. is it just one cable, or are there switches/Meshes/Ethernet-Over-Power adaptors in the way, etc
Just answer what you feel you know - can expand on any you aren’t sure on
