Focal Sopra 2, B&W 803 D3, PMC twenty5 26i, Kudos Titan 606

Hi all.

Just after your thoughts and maybe experiences.
I’m looking at a used pair of these speakers to use with my set up.
Ideally i would like to listen to both, but that isnt an option.

What do you all think?

Thanks everyone

I bought a pre-loved pair of Kudos Titan 606s recently after waiting a while for a good deal. I’ve not heard the other 3 speakers - so I’ve no experience to offer - but I just love the 606s. Miles better for me than Spendor D7.2s which I also demo’d - they were pleasant but not ‘Wow !’. Home demo would be my advice. That said, the 606s seem quite room tolerant - my room isn’t large which was a concern initially.

I’ve had my titans 606s for over 5 years now. Not changing anytime soon…
Had the super 20s before that for about 5 years.
In that time - ran through many other speakers - bought and sold s/h - none were able to
Replace these.

The only ones I’m considering now are the totem metals v2 - running the totem tribe towers in a second system and loving it!

But you’ve listed 4 not 2?

Regardless, speakers are so different from one another, and key to the sound character of s system, that you really have to hear before buying, or be prepared to move them on and try again.

Personally I preferred PMC to B&W, but that was MB2 and EB1i against 802D2. I haven’t heard the others.

Any of those listed will interface with Naim amps, it’s really down to your personal choice and even more your room. Personally out of choice I would take the Titans over the Focals, I don’t really know the BWs and PMCs. Evidence amongst Naim users is that Kudos are not so fussy about location.

I have Kudos T505 and when shopping for speakers I auditioned the Sopra 1 (awful driver integration with a bass-heavy, unfocused sound) and B&W 805 D5 (technically impressive and very “hi fi” sounding but completely lacking emotional attachment) among others.

Kudos Titans have an addictive, seamless, cohesive sound that just sounds “right” and invites long listening sessions. This is paired with a NAP 300DR. And they scale very, very well. There are many on this forum that mate them with electronics several times the cost of the speakers themselves which as someone currently auditioning a preamp costing far more than my 505 that they have no issues rising to the ocassion.

I concur with what others have said regarding Kudos speakers. I have a pair of the 505s and I absolutely love them. They look great, sound great and they come with a very impressive pair of stands.

I previously had a pair of Focal Sopra #1s. Whilst they were a very good pair of speakers, they cannot match the integrated and natural sound of the 505s that others have referred to.

I also previously had your setup and used it with both speakers I’ve mentioned above. The Kudos won hands down.
