Focal Sopra 3

I am interested in replacing my current SL2 speakers with Focal Supra 3. Has anyone heard the Focal with my 500 amplifier on the other hand i can buy ovator 600 se for a good price…can someone or more people here give me an opinion? I would love to hear it.

Why? What are you looking to improve?

SL2/Focal Sopra 3/Ovator 600 seem to me to be three very, very different speakers in terms of cost, musical presentation and even positioning.

Haven’t heard the Ovator but I know they are a bit Marmite and also need careful assessment and setup buying secondhand. Search is your friend here. I have heard the Sopra 2 (not 3) albeit briefly. It may have been the system of course, it was in a dealer demo room, but not for me at all. Rather more ‘HiFi’ than ‘music’? Like I said it was not a long listen.

As for SL2. Had them for maybe 15yrs. They suit me, the system and the room.

Whatever you do, demo at home or at the very least negotiate a free return period.

I also love my speakers, but in a short time my tweeters burned out because I listen at a high volume..between 10-11. It’s very possible that they can’t handle such loads.

Aah!

So good performance at high volume a priority?

Indeed..low volume to me i`m boring..i need good energy listening to music

Be careful!

If you like your SL2, going to Supra could be more a sideway.

Earlier Naim speakers and actual Focal speakers have not the same sound approach.

Listen before you’ll change.

I would keep the SL2.

Or look for NBL/DBL.

Wasn’t the Supra a Toyota car? The Focal speaker is the Sopra.

Then you should maybe go fot Kudos 606 or 808. Because Focal give very different sound. But maybe you will prefer Focal….

Do you have a dealer near?

I’m pretty sure the Supra easily goes sideways, the Sopra maybe not  Sorry, I couldn’t resist :joy:

You “heard” ? does that mean you have read about them or does it mean you have actually listened to them in you system at home ?

I think at this level the answer is engage a good dealer and do some demos, so many options out there…

You have also Proac in Israel. Could you listen to Neat and Naim at a dealer place ?

I remember your room is not that big. Are you sure the big Neat will match your room ?

Those answers i get isn`t practical in Israel..you cannot listen here to expensive speakers

Sorry I didn’t realise you were outside of the UK.

I assume that, unlike your old SL2s, they will need a fair bit of room behind them?

I hope you have room, they look enormous!

19 square meters

In a room of that size I’d be looking at the XL6.

The silence came in response from the speaker’s designer and manufacturer. He has experienced quite a few such installations in a variety of listening rooms.he added my room size wouldnt be a problem..about XL6 i don`t think it`s a better choice to my Sl2
